Bottle Tree Park

We had been to Bottle Tree Village several times but Bottle Tree Park is our 1st visit. It a nice place for the kids at the playground. There are also some small animals in the cages. The children can also try to catch some "Long Kang"fishes at $10 per kid. The foods there are nice too. Overall, I will give it a 8/10 and we will sure visit them again.

Daddy's Birthday

Daddy will turn 60 this year. Thought of giving him a good treat at some expensive restaurant, but he rejected. Cos it's 7th month during his birthday and he didn't want any "loud"celebration. So, I gave him and everyone a treat @ Swensen while the rest of them will be giving him hongbaos then. He ordered the most expensive set - Wagyu beef, both me and Huiting had sirloin steak, Edmund ordered a lamb chop and Shannen and mummy share a salmon steak. Sarah was eating the side dishes-mashed potato, boiled carrot and other vegetables.

We ended the lunch with some ice-cream and all of us enjoy that meal. It's been a long time since we last go out for a meal together......

3 Years & 8 Months, Another Is 8 Month Old

Both sisters are having the same birthday, which means both of them are 8 months old today! Shannen is actually 3 years and 8 months old today. Wow.... times flies. Sarah has been with us for the past 8 months.

She is able to sit by herself.

Has better griping and can hold things well.

She is also able to put the pacifier into her mouth when it pops out.

Crawl forward a bit but not for long.

Will lie down on the bed or next to her pillow when we ask her to lie down.

The last time I saw her was last year Chinese New Year @ mummy's place. Usually on the 1st day of Chinese New Year, most of the uncles, aunties and cousins will gather at 3rd Uncle's house(where grandma is staying with), eating, chatting and playing with cards. Then on the 2nd or 3rd they will go over to mummy's place. This year, I didn't attend any of the house visiting as Sarah is too small at that time and she is a super grouchy baby(still is the same now). Which means I didn't see grandma for more than a year.

Went to Sun Plaza in the early evening to grab some pears so that I can make some puree for Sarah. While we were on our way to McDonald to get dinner, saw this old lady standing at the door, smiling at Sarah. When I take a closer look..... she is grandma! I called out for her, but she didn't recognize me at first. When I told her who I was, she then know it. I asked her why was she staring at Sarah, she told me she saw this cute little one who looks very interesting. That's why she was smiling at her. "She is your great-grandchild"I said...... She was very happy to see us. We offered her a ride home, but she kept rejecting. In the end, just gonna give in to her. Can see that she is much older than the last time I saw her and has bad hearing problem too...

Think I didn't love her enough. Got to visit her more often when I can make time for her. Treasure our love ones when they are still around. I love U, 外婆!

Mother's Day

Way before Mother's Day arrived, I've called up OTO @ Heartland Mall and ordered a OTO eLux as present for Mummy(Mother's Day) & Daddy(advance Fathér's Day). Good thing I made the right decision to make a reservation as this was the last set in the store. We also had a mini celebration with mummy's favourite mango cake.

As for my mother in-law, didn't manage to get any present for her cos really can't find any suitable ones. So in the end, I bought a teddy bear flower, a eye shield(she complaint that her room is too bright) and also a hongbao for her. Hopes she likes the eye shield.

Can't believe that this will ever happen to me. We got a power failure early in the morning @ 2.30am!!! Everything just stop. The sarong, the fans, the air con... The most important things for the 2 princesses. Elson went off to check the circuit board and found no problem with it. Shannen Is Sick 2

While Sarah is suffering from constipation, Shannen is having diarrhoea. She has been having very watery stools once per day from 15.03.10 to 19.03.10. On 24.03.10, she was having fever at 39 degree. We brought her to see the same pd whom Sarah had seen for her constipation problem as Dr. Lilian just came back from holiday and she was too busy.

Since then, Shannen had diarrhoea about 3 to 4 times per day and it's really watery. The diarrhoea lasted for a week. The fever only goes away on the 5th day. We brought her back to see Dr. Lilian on 30.03.10 cos the medicines prescribed by the previous pd are finishing and she is still unwell. After a change on the medicine, Shannen is much better the next day. Her stool still soft but not that running anymore. She is finally well on 03.04.2010. Hooray....

Way before we introduce solid to Sarah, she had not been poo poo on a regular basis. Sometime the interval will be around 5 days. This time, we brought her to see a pd because she has been passing out her bowel with blood. Blamed me for being so careless cos I tried manually and dig out her hard stools for her. It must have cause her anus to tear and bleed each time she poo.

PD said there's lots of bowel in her stomach still and he used a long tube and insert the softener into her tummy so that she can pass out the stools which has been trapped inside her body for the pas few days. She didn't cry when the pd insert the tube, only cries when she pass out all the bowels. I was also told not to give her any solid at the moment, not to give her any manual help in future. In case the constipation comes back again, just give her the oral medicine will do cos there's a few tears on her anus. Poor darling.

Healthy Timez Brown Rice Cereal

Sarah has been on solid since early February. Why so early? Cos she has reflux and the only way to avoid her from throwing out so frequently is to give her some solid. On the other hand, she has not been gaining much weight due to reflux too.

Started out with giving her commercial fruits puree, then move on to rice cereal, then add on homemade puree (veg or fruits) now am trying to give her some organic brown rice cereal from Healthy Timez. She loves her solid meals and wants more each time.

Homemade Pureed Foods

Ever since Sarah has started on solid foods, we realized that she prefer sweet stuffs more than sour ones. That's totally different from Shannen who loves sour things. Then, I have decided to make some homemade pureed foods for her, which is fresher, no preservative and with lots of loves in there.

Mummy bought the ice-cube tray with cover for me from Punggol Plaza. Very useful indeed cos just need to pour the cool off pureed in it, cover up and put in the freezer can liao.

It's the last day of the bull and just as I thought that it will go away in peace.... it never!

We were having Lunar dinner when Sarah just fell asleep in the sarong. I wanna eat as fast as I could before she is awake. Just as I was into the dinner for 5mins, we heard screaming from upstairs. All of them thought that is was Sarah, but it didn't sound like the screaming is coming from the walkie talkie. Then we heard children upstairs screaming that Shannen is bleeding... OMG. I dropped the chopsticks immediately and ran upstairs as fast as I could. I saw Shannen sitting on the floor, crying with her mouth covering with lots of blood. I carried her and ran down as fast as I could, put some sugar on the wounded lower lip. Her nose was bleeding too. She was crying loudly and my heart broke......

I carried her throughout the dinner and tried to feed her with some "soft chewing" foods. She was able to eat without any complaints but we agreed that the swell will be worse tomorrow. At night, I gave her some milk with straw and she was only half way through the milk and was complaining that she was having pain. She told me it was pain from her upper gum. I wondered.... I thought she only injured her lower lip & nose. How come the upper gum was in pain too. Told her to lie down and I did a quick check. Indeed that her upper gum was having some blood clot. I used a cotton bud to clean her wound. My poor girl.....

Told the kids that they are not allowed to be left alone upstairs though the maid is with them cos she can't stop them from doing anything, unless an adult like anyone of us is with them. Otherwise everyone has to stay downstairs in future. Was told that Shannen was doing a dancing turn and she lost balance and fell flat on the floor.

I was hesitate to give Sarah rice cereal cos she is just 4 months old, but on the other hand, I wanted to give her the cereal earlier as she was not gaining much weight cos she was having reflux. After much consideration, I finally tried rice cereal mixed with breast milk for her and she loved it!

The only thing is she is trying very hard to poo cos after introducing solid to her, her bowel is no longer watery but pasty. Well... got to give her more water and fruits then.

I've never imagined that the weighing scale which I am standing on is reading the big 50 to be. It has always been 50 plus or even closer to 60 ever since I got married and become a mother. I was weighing so heavy that I had to wear free size or L size clothes after I gave birth to Shannen and breast feeding her.

As for this time round(after giving birth to Sarah), I really lost so much weight until I can even put on the Lacoste short which I bought years and years ago(when I was 17 then, working in Lacoste) Lolz... It's really not easy handling 2 kids at 1 time.

Went back to Parentcraft for review today and am so happy that the blocked duct has been clear. Though the areola area is still swollen with bruise but it's still much better than before. Got to keep on massaging the breasts before pumping them and also take good care of the nipple areas too. Catch the opportunity to take a picture when Mrs Wong was carrying Sarah.

It Was Hell

It had been horrible weeks for me since I came back home. Sarah is not napping well. She will wake up after 30-45minutes from her nap and didn't want to go back to sleep again. I will have to sit there, patting her for hours and drag her nap until it's the next feed. It has been a very tiring job. So tired that I wanted to give up. Adding to my misery, I am having blocked duct now. It was at the areola area and very near to the nipple. Part of the nipple was swollen. Whenever Sarah feed on it, I can feel the burning sensation. It was worse than giving birth.

Shannen was also sick and had to stay at home. Imagined that I had to take care both of them...... Loss of words.

Things are getting better now as Sarah can nap longer cos of the help of pacifier. I can organise my time better now. Look forward for better things come ahead. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Blocked Ducts & Inflammation

It's confirmed by the lactation consultant and doctor that I am having blocked ducts(which is at the areola area) and causes inflammation. Went to Parentcraft (@TMC) this morning and was so happy that I was able to meet up with Mrs Wong in person. She is so friendly and kind to approach to. She helped me massage the blocked area and asked the another lactation consultant to help me afterwards cos she was busy for another shooting. Met up with a few mothers who encounter problems with breast feeding too. Wondering how come something natural can be so tough.

After the 2nd round of massage, the lactation consultant had confirmed that I had a inflammation and need to take some antibiotic to clear them before I can proceed for further massage. Meanwhile, I will still latch on Sarah at the affected area, hoping that she can clear the blockage for me and need to go back on Friday for review.

Extra Milk Supply

Finally managed to transport all my breast milk from my mom's place back home via lots of ice-cubes in a huge cooler box. After calculating, then realized that I now have 80 packets of breast milk in the freezer (newly bought just to store all the breast milk). Not forgetting that Shannen already drank 7 packets a week ago. Got to ensure that she still go on well with the breast milk cos I am able to fill up 2 bags each day while she only drinks 1 packet.

38 Months Milestones

Shannen is learning lots of things from us and her temper is getting from bad to worse. Maybe is because I don't have that much time and patience now to talk to her nicely and resulting her bad behaviour. Felt kinda bad. Hopefully when Sarah grow up I will be able to have more time for Shannen.

One more thing, Shannen has been sicking lately. She is always down with cough and flu with an average of 1 month per visit to Dr. Lilian. Think will bring her to see a Chinese physician this weekend. Hopefully her immune system and airways will be better.

2 Months Milestones

Sarah is taking shorter naps now and kept wanting to talk to us more. She is also able to response to us and smile back at us when we did that to her. Overall, she is growing up well and good. Looking forward for a better sleep in the night now.....

After Sarah's haircut, we went to Emicakes to get a durian birthday cake for mummy and had a mini celebration for her. We Love U, Mummy!

Botak!

Finally able to bring Sarah out for her 1st haircut. Waned to bring her to Punggol Plaza for the haircut but the shop has closed down. So we brought her to the same saloon which Shannen had her 1st haircut there too (Supercut). It took just 5 minutes to change her look (Botak). The guy was fast and good, no crying from Sarah at all compared with Shannen (It took more than 20 minutes and Shannen was crying badly).

Full Month (Late post)

We celebrated Sarah's full month 2 days earlier as daddy's taxi is available to help in delivering the cake. There isn't any invitation to anyone, just ordered 5 boxes of cake from Choz to give it to Ah gong, 1st Aunty, 2nd Uncle & next door neighbour (of course 1 more box for ourselves). These were the people who send me confinement "foods" during my confinement. So I only order cake from them and asking them not to give me any hongbao in return as I don't want anyone to spend money on Sarah's full month. This is also the reason why I never order cakes for the rest of the relatives as I don't want them to fork out money for the hongbaos(economic is bad now).
