Poor Shannen

I don't know what to say.... It is just one after another. It was the similar Hand Foot Mouth disease at first, then follow by Stomach Flu, then Shannen caught the regular flu virus again and now she was bitten by mosquito. Yes, I do agree that it is very common to get bitten by mosquito especially it has been raining lately. Shannen is super unlucky this time as the mosquito chose to bite her on her eye lid.

Fetched her back from school in the afternoon and realised that her right cheek and both legs had the "huge" bites from mosquito. So I believed she must be bitten in school. After shower, then I noticed that her left eye lid was a little swollen. Didn't think too much. Just apply the mosquito cream on her cheek and legs and we went for our nap. Soon as I woke up, saw Shannen with a swollen left eye. Could see the big differences when we compared both eyes. Elson think it was alright and didn't agree to bring her to the doctor and he said she should be alright the next day.

Guess what......... Shannen couldn't open her left eye the next day when she woke up and the rest of the bites got worse. So we decided to bring her to the nearby clinic(@ ChongPang) instead of her regular visit to the PD which we had to wait for at least 4 hours. Dr Chan had confirmed that Shannen has very sensitive skin which causes the bites to be much "bigger" than other kids. Well, I knew that cos Shannen has eczema. He gave Shannen Zytec to release the pain and itch, and also a cream to apply on the affected areas, except for her eye lid. If the swell got worse, we will have to bring her back for some antibiotics. Were lucky the all the bites got better and Shannen could open her left eye at half on the 3rd day.

Pray hard that Shannen will pass her unlucky day cos I didn't get to sleep for the whole month and have been having headache almost everyday. Got to let her bath in some "flower" water when we bring her to mummy's place on Thursday.

Stomach Flu

This is the 1st time Shannen contacted this illness, Stomach Flu. Thanks to those inconsiderate parents who insist to bring their sick child to the school. Ended up some teachers and lots of children caught the "flu". Shannen had been vomiting since Thursday night. We had to change the bed sheets 3 times. For the last time when she wanted to vomit around 2am, we were quick enough to bring her to the toilet to throw out. Poor darling.

Mummy manage to make an appointment for Shannen to see Dr. Lilian from Kids Clinic. The nurse called me around 10.30am and asked me to slowly make our way down to the clinic. Elson had to come back to fetch us to the clinic half way through his works. After examining, it's confirmed that Shannen caught the stomach flu virus. Dr. Lilian inserted the anti-vomit bullet for Shannen and she was only allow to drink diluted milk, barley water, glucose water or boiled rice water @ 12pm. After which, no drink, no foods for her until 5pm. Could see how weak Shannen was. I was so scared of the vomiting drama and decided to lay the mattress on the floor to company her.

Shannen woke up around 5pm and asked for foods. So we gave her bread with a small amount of kaya & butter. Gave her the anti-vomit oral medicine this time and she was able to swallow without vomiting. Gave her some glucose drink around 8pm and she went to bed again. he next day was better. Shannen was able to eat some porridge & bread with packet milk. She only had diarrhea once in the afternoon and vomited once in the night time after I made her drink 180ml of milk.

On Sunday, she was hopping around. Gave her some butter cookies with packet milk for breakfast. She was also able to finish the whole big bowl of chicken porridge in noon time. Gave her some glucose drink around 1pm. At night, she had a KFC thigh all by herself. We skip the night feed cos Elson prepared bake potato for us as supper. Lolz.....

4th Gynae Checkup

Told Dr. Adrian that I couldn't sleep in the night though I had skipped my day nap. He gave me some painkillers in case I have headache again. Still can't confirm whether it's a boy or girl. Due date will be on 23rd of Sept 2009 now. Elson was shock of the brought forward and kinda disappointed that Baby can't have the same birthday as him now. In fact am happy that if Baby can come out on 16th of Sept, which will be having the same birthday as Shannen then. Lolz..

Sarah is measured at 5.7cm.

Bad Girl

Teacher Susie told me that Shannen used her water bottle to hit on her best friend's head, Ewan, until there's a bum on his head. I saw the red bum and was very angry for what Shannen had did. Asked Shannen to face the wall(when we reached home) and said she will not hit her friends, scold her friends, push her friends.

Teacher Susie did told me that she asked Shannen to go to another room and explain to her what her doing was wrong. She also asked Shannen to say sorry to Ewan, hug him and "sayang" the bum. She did so too, but I also asked Shannen to do all those the next day when we saw Ewan in school. Felt so paisei about the whole matter.

Usually will pick up Shannen from school after her lunch on every Wednesday to go to mummy's place. Cos Daddy will be off on this day and is able to have some time with Shannen. Of course our little princess is always excited to see me earlier at school and off we go to take a cab to mummy's place. She is the one who always shout for "taxi". Lolz..

Craving

Been having craving of drinking the lobster soup from Jack's Place for a few days. Got Mummy & Huiting to company us (me & Shannen) for lunch together.

Wow....

Elson tabao chicken rice for us. As usually, I will have to cut the meat into small piece, mixed them with the rice to serve Shannen. Instead of eating her favourite chicken, Shannen said she wanna have the whole drumstick. Okay, we gave her the whole drumstick, and it's proven that she can handle it. So no more "tearing" the meat apart in future.



At night, Elson was kinda eager to tell Shannen some stories after hearing that she was very attentive in school during story time. We bought 3 Disney Princess story books for Shannen on last Saturday. Now it's time that daddy show off his skill while I get some "free" time.

1st try.......

Elson was trying to read them(the story books) in Mandarin and he kept going on saying "and then, and then" I think Shannen got pissed and kept flipping the pages until the books reached "The End" Lolz.....

2nd try.................. worst!

Shannen gave Elson the Snow White story book again and lie next to Elson. Could see that Elson is very serious this time.

Elson : Long long time ago.........there's a little princess.......

Suddenly realised that Shannen moved away from his shoulder.
Shannen actually moved over to her pillow and start reading The Mermaid story book herself. After seeing that, Elson said....

Elson : 给个面子 leh
Shannen : 不要
Elson : 真的这么难听meh
Shannen : 很难听 (and nodded her head)

OMG, I was laughing out loud!
