Messy Messy....

Our mini renovation finally kick off this morning. There were drilling and dirt flying all around the house. Uncle told us to bring Shannen out cos it will be louder when he need to remove the bathtub. Anyway, we had planned to go out way before hand.

We(mummy, Shannen and me) went to the nearest Thomson Plaza to do a little shopping. Bought some foods so that we can make dinner for tonight and tomorrow. Shannen was way too tired and nearly fell asleep in the trolley. So I bought a Pigeon pillow and a soft toy(Dumbo) for her to hug and sleep on while she was taking her nap on the trolley. We then decided to head back home at 2pm. Cos can't bear to see our Princess sleeping on the trolley. Just before we reached home, Shannen had already gone to her dreamland in mummy's arms.

Mummy placed her on the sofa while I quickly did a quick mop in the hall so that she can nap on the mattress with the fan on. Otherwise, the dirt will be flying everywhere. Shannen only took a very short nap (about 40mins) cos Uncle still gonna continue the drilling work. Otherwise it will drag another day again. They left our place with the smaller bathroom done up(Shannen and MIL's onez) and for our master bed room's toilet, the bathtub was removed and the whole floor were all gone. We can't use both toilet. Only alternative is the use the smallest toilet downstairs(with a washing machine in it). Elson then suggested that we go to mummy's place to take our showers. Can send her on the way back too.

Reached home at around 8.30pm. I did a quick mop again. Can't stand the dust everywhere. Get Shannen to sleep at 10pm. Then I went to clean up the house again. Washed all the fan, mop every corner, clean the stairs with cloth, changed all the bedsheets. Tomorrow is just another day. They haven't finish yet.......

The black spot was where the bathtub was

Shooting Day

Pamela called me around 10am to confirm where to park their car. Soon after she hang up, she was appearing at my door. She came with a camera man and a lighting & sound uncle. They setup the lightings and place the camera properly. Look like those big shooting screen. Lolz...

Shannen and I were all dressed up for the shooting since then, but we kept waiting and waiting... Waiting for who??? We were wondering too. Then came a group of people (3 guys and a girl). Pamela then told me they are from .... forgot liao, Only remember Joe (the art/creative director) and Chris (the guy in red hair, very tall, standing at 1.9m) Joe had wanted Shannen to change her red top to a blue one so that we don't look so contrast. I also have to remember the lines in both English and Mandarin. After everything was ready, we did the shooting. I think I repeated the lines at least 25 times cos they wanna capture the best. Shannen was pretty co-operative. She was hugging the bucket and stick out her tongue when told to do so.

Now we just gonna sit and wait for the short advertisement to be appeared on tv. Hopefully it turns out well.

Pamela was in brown and the "Indian" guy was the one who gave me the lines to read

KFC

Received a called from KFC today. The lady told us that I had won $1000 in their daily lucky draw contest. Elson was so sure that he kept saying it's a scam when I was talking to that lady on the phone. She took down another contact no. of mine and also asked me for the name to be written on the cheque. Of course I gave her mine. Then Elson was asking, how come it's my name and not his. I simply told him " you are rich mah, so I dun know letting them scam me lor". Lolz.....

She told me that a lady by the name Pamela from Mediacorp will contact me later today to arrange the time for shooting a short advertisement. True enough, Pamela gave me a call when I was at my mum's place (just before I was getting off to have a new hairdo). We arranged the shooting on next Monday in the morning.

I had a short hair cut and did a rebonding. Now I look so much like Shannen (of course she is much prettier). I also bought a polo t-shirt from Converse cos there wasn't any proper fittings for me ever since I become a housewife. :( Let's just gonna wait and see whether it's a scam and I really did won the $1000.

Bye Bye FX01, Hello FX38

We (me & Elson) were chatting a few days back. I agreed with what he said. Men are more rational while we women are more emotional. They (men) do things thinking whether it's right or wrong without any emotions(maybe some have), while we women always think about feelings 1st. Since Elson had been spending so much on our recent trips, the mini renovation we are going to have, his long wanting dish washer and something else with in-laws side, I shall save up to buy a new camera for myself when the time comes.

Called up Panasonic today whether is there a way to upgrade my super old camera (FX01). The very nice guy(from Panasonic) told me there's no way cos everything is programmed inside the camera. What a disappointment. Which means.... If I want a better camera, I need to purchase a new one. So I ask him again whether is FX38 better compare to FX36(Huiting's using that now). Of course FX38 is better with more improved "stuffs" in it, but it will only launch in Singapore next week. I was thinking.... Maybe if the price of FX36 is much lower when the new model(FX38) comes in, I will just get a FX36 for a lower price.

Elson came back early today and brought us to our all-time favourite electronic store to buy the dish washer and an extra standing fan for the kitchen. I was looking around and saw FX38 on the shelf. Was wondering how come they already have that when Panasonic told me it will only be launch next week. I ask Mr ...... about the price different between FX36 and FX38 and was surprised to learn that it's only $53 different. Wow....... Definitely gonna buy FX38 since it's a newer model. I told him to reserve a silver camera for me(though I prefer the brown one) and will come back and pay him tomorrow (since I doesn't want Elson to know about it). Just then, Elson walked pass us and told me to check out on the dish washer. As I was too busy with the camera, I told him to carry on 1st.

Just before we check out, Elson told Mr ...... to charge the camera to his bill too. I was so so happy and told Mr ..... that I wanted a brown one. All these while I had never want Elson to pay for it cos he had already spent so much this couple of weeks. Now I can use this new camera for my Genting trip to take better quality pictures. Yahoo....... 老公万岁!!!!!!!!!!

A Bad Fall

Shannen has not been behaving herself lately. She will wake up in the middle of the night crying, cried when she woke up in the morning. Cried whenever she can't see me. It's just some crying episode. Furthermore, after Elson had a new haircut, she doesn't want him anymore. It really pissed him off cos Shannen is his precious.

After a good shower play with her just now while I was cutting her while, she totally forgot her fear of daddy. She was playing hide and seek with Elson. Just as she was running towards me, she tripped and fell. She was lying flat on the floor, busting out loud. I saw this huge "bun" on her forehead. Poor darling

Only her pacifier can calm her down

New Haircut

It's not just cutting the fringe this time, but I also trimmed her back. At least it's more tidy now.

School

Brought Shannen to the school which we intended to let her attend on 3rd October. Elson came along with us to visit the school too.

I was with the principal in her office to fill up the forms and made all the necessary payments while Elson was out there with Shannen playing to ensure that Shannen was okay with the environment. Total bill came up to S$1017 with purchase of 3 sets of uniforms (XS). After all the arrangements were done, Ms Gouri (the Principal) showed us around. We came to the group which Shannen will be put with and saw her teacher in-charge. Including Shannen, the teacher will be taking care of 7 toddlers together with a help from a China teacher.

Shannen was okay when she saw her teachers and classmates. She wasn't afraid at all and approached them and offered to shake hands with them when I told her to. She also waved bye bye when we left the place, but there's 1 thing am very concern about. I saw a 19 months old toddler who looks kinda fierce and pushed Shannen's hand away when Shannen was trying to shake her hands. This one both me and Elson agreed that we gonna keep an eye on.

Blur Look

This one looks better

Mummy, are you done?

Genting

Finalised everything and paid S$572 in total for 4 adults and 1 toddler to Genting from 23th to 25th of September. Yahoo!!!

Macau & Zhuhai Trip Day 3

Actually we did not plan to go out with the rest on our last day cos the three of us(Elson, Shannen & me) were all lacked of sleep. I heard my doorbell rang and didn't dare to open the door. It was 10am then. Cos Sharlene had told me they will left for haircut and shopping as early as 9.30am. So... who would that be ringing my doorbell?? Not long after the ringing, I heard Yongliang and Peixuan's voice. Running along the corridor. I was so delighted to see them cos I really didn't wanna waste my last day in Zhuhai. Sharlene told me that everyone couldn't wake up on time, that's why they were all still around. So happy to see them.

I quickly gave Shannen milk and got her change. Then I let Elson know that I would be joining the rest of them for shopping while he will be sleeping in the hotel room. It was after all a fun day outside. We went for a hair wash and the kids had their haircuts too. Only Shannen was left out cos she never allowed strangers to touch her. Lolz.. After the haircut and hair wash, we were shopping in the nearby store. It was a RMB$2 store that made us stayed there for quite a while. Just imagined that everything there is only @ S$0.40 each. I grabbed as many as possible, so is Sharlene and Megan.

Left the store after a good 30mins shop and went to the opp building cos it started to rain. We were just shopping around until we stayed quite a while in a local sport shop. It's something like a Nike store but it's a local brand. After the rain started to get lesser, we bought some umberlla and went back to the hotel. Yanning jie arrange a mini coach service for us (Elson, Yongliang, Shannen and me) to Zhuhai custom, Macau custom and finally Macau airport to take catch our flight back. While the rest will head to Guangzhou for more shopping. We arrived the airport early and decided to have some food before we do the check-in thing. While queueing and waiting for our turn for the checking-in, we heard people mumbling that many flights were delayed. We prayed hard that it doesn't happen to ours. When we reached the counter, the service staff told us that our flight had been delayed from 6.30pm to 10.30pm. It was a solid 4 hours delay. Not to mentioned that we were already arriving the airport early enough.

We decided to check-in our luggage and stayed in the airport cos we hope that the flight will not delay that long. Shannen also had a good nap at the airport cos she didn't had any for the whole day. Indeed... the flight was further delayed again till 11.30pm. We were so tired. Poor Shannen actually had a diarrhea and vomited twice in the airport. I believed that she had caught a cold the day before when we were at the Seafood Street. Poor baby. We reached home the next day morning about 3 and Yongliang didn't go to school which was about another 4 hours then.

Macau & Zhuhai Trip Day 2

We woke up as early as 8am and gathered at the lobby to have a sumptuous dim sum breakfast. Everyone looks so sleepy in the pictures cos we all had a late night partying in our (me and Elson & Shannen) room. Ordered a table full of foods and after that we head off to a nearby shopping mall.

We went separate ways as Elson did not wanna shop for too long. Shortly after a bought a Doraemon for Shannen, we were resting at KFC for some drinks and fries. Meet up with the rest of them at 12pm and continue a little shopping again before Yanning Jie called for us.

We went to the famous Seafood Street to settle our lunch there. Wow... everything we saw there were alive and swimming around. While we were waiting for our lunch to be served, the table next to us was quarrelling with the lady boss in the restaurant. They said they were being over charged and demand a discount. There were so much noise as people were shouting and screaming. Then came this man who was with the same group. He walked up to the lady boss, took the bill, teared it into pieces and threw it on her face. Wowo..... They ended up leaving the restaurant paying on half of what they were being charged early. Scary manz....

We had a good meal ourselves after the fight. In total we had 14 dishes. After so much foods, all the men, together with me brought all the kids back to the hotel for some rest. While Sharlene and Megan head off to another destination for some pearls shopping. We met again at 7pm for dinner. This time, we went back to the same restaurant which we visited in the morning. Another good meal again. After that, we went to do more shopping again and finally had some supper (soya bean with 油条) and end another day.

Macau & Zhuhai Trip Day 1

Megan & Ken parked their car at our place and together we took a cab to the airport. While we were on our way, Sharlene sms us that they had already arrive the airport. Can see she is pretty excited about this trip. Cos before today, I had been receiving sms and updates from her. Finally we are leaving for Zhuhai (Pearl River in China, just across Macau)!

Shannen was too tired and took a 2 hours afternoon nap on the plane. Good thing is she didn't make any noise when the plane was taking off and landing to touch down. Straight after we cleared from the "custom", we hopped into the coaches which Yinning Jie (Elson's cousin) had arranged for us. In fact, she is like a tour guide for this trip. From travelling, shopping to meals, she was taking good care of us. The drivers drove us to a famous restaurant in Macau for our dinner and they waited for us on the coaches. After a full meal, the drivers dropped us at Ruins of St. Paul's. We took some pictures there and walked down the alley and do some shopping. We also stopped by to tried some of their local delicacies, steamed egg and steamed milk. Can tell you we all dun like the taste of it. Lolz... Anyway, it was a good try.

After that we hopped back to the coaches again and he drove us to visit Macau famous 妈祖 temple. Shannen was really good. I told her to pray outside the temple (cos is was closed for the day) and she did so and she also bowed like the Japanese outside the temple. After that we proceed to our last stop, The Venetian (Casino). You can never compare any one of these with Genting ones. This casino alone is about the size of the whole Genting. All of them insist that I should take a look at the casino. So I did. Wow..... that's all I can say. After that I went to look for Sils and the kids. We had some fries at McDonald (still inside The Venetian) while I also gave Shannen her last milk feed. We met up with Bil at the hall at 10.45pm and off we left for the custom.

We don't quite like the custom clearance part. The drivers dropped us at Macau custom and we had to carry everything to pass through the Macau clearance. After that, we had to walk through a tunnel (though it's a pretty short one) to finish our Zhuhai custom clearance. Once we were out from Zhuhai custom check point, we could many pairs of eyes looking at us. The drivers in Macau had told us to be careful of the kids who are known as thieves. We took a short cut from the shopping mall and reached their so-called taxi stand. We took and cab and finally reached our hotel. It's well-located. Soon after everyone had finished unpacked their luggage, they gathered at our room and we ordered dian xin to end part 1 of the day.
A little intro of us and how we are bring group up

I had enough of bringing expired, "imported", spoilt, pirated stuffs home though I pay a little lesser purchasing from them (Mr SS). We were regular shoppers before when we got fresh seafood and average standard of "home used" products from them. We spent an average of S$200 per visit, sometime even more.

After 2 same incident when I bought back instant noodles which the mixing ingredients inside the packing were being "opened" up and end up the sesame oil leak out, 1 incident that Shannen's diapers were defective(the inner lining of one side was tightly stick to the diaper which I couldn't lift it up, end up Shannen cannot use that diaper to sleep throughout the night), quite a few incident when I realise their canned foods packing are different from other supermarkets (Mr SS was older in stock), and this is 1 thing I have to show you the pics to see the difference.

I bought this hanging air freshener from Mr SS at 1st (cos we only buy our stuffs from Mr SS), it was the "pink" pouch you see below. The 2nd time onwards it was changed to the blue pouch. I wonder why Company G has changed their packaging to a lousy quality. Anyway, I still buy the hanging air freshener before we banned them. Only recently when we change the supermarket we visit, then I only realised that only Mr SS is selling the blue pouch air freshener (lower quality). You know what, if I never give a chance to shop at other supermarkets I will never realised that I was cheated by the regular one which we trusted so much. All these while I thought Company G had lower their standard of quality control.

Another incident, Elson was greedy seeing some promotion outside Mr SS(before we banned them). 1 bottle(1.5litres) of X&X soft drink only selling at 40cents. Cheap right? Of course lah. Who wouldn't wanna grab it. Somemore both of us are X&X lovers. We ended up suffering for the whole 3 weeks, trying to finish up the 6 bottle of gas less drinks. It taste worse than Shannen's medicine. When we gave some to Shannen, she even refused to drink it. I know it;s out own fault, but never ever we are going back to Mr SS after so many incidents we met. Good luck to shoppers of Mr SS, just gonna be careful when you buy things

The differences between the 2 pouch below

1) Scent last longer in the pink pouch
2) The pink pouch quality is better
3) The tiny balls in the blue pouch looks likes....... balls
4) Maybe you can buy both of them to compare and see it for yourself

Happy Birthday Ah Gong!

We are celebrating Daddy's birthday(actual day is 5th of August) today cos Edmund can't make it tomorrow as he has classes tomorrow. Treat them to a Chinese restaurant in Compass Point for lunch and also did some shopping for my coming trip to Pearl River. Daddy bought this little piglet booster for Shannen. Why this pinky one when it's more expensive comparing to the others which is only $9.90? Cos the staff told Daddy that the pinky piglet's fur is better quality, so he decided to buy that for Shannen.

Shannen loves the piggy so much that she totally forgot about her pacifier during her afternoon nap. She was hugging the piggy tightly.

Happy Birthday Ah Gong!!

Bolognese Pasta

After changing Shannen's menu for about 3 weeks, realise that she is more interested in her lunch and dinner, eats faster, no more "keeping" the food in her mouth, eats a wider variety of foods, have more fun during meal times, etc. Here's some pictures of her having some Twisted Bolognese Pasta. She actually finished the whole bowl.

Shannen Draws Me

Shannen took about 3 minutes to draw this picture and I love it!
