X'mas Time!

We had a mini party @ Megan's place. Shannen of course was the star at that time. She still dun know what was the party about, but guess she loves the presence of me and Elson to be there to company her.

Pacifier

Though I had bought the pacifiers way before Shannen was born, I was so hesitate to give it to her. Told Mummy to let Shannen try today after her 3rd month jab. She looks so cute and blur...

I can lift up my head

After a few attempts, Shannen is able to lift up her head without much help, but that only lasted for a couples of seconds. At least better than nothing.

Botak!!!!!!!!!!!

After thinking carefully, I think I better give Shannen a real hair cut(botak) soon so that there's enough time for her hairs to grow when CYN comes next February. I brought her to Supercut @ Compass Point with mummy's help. At that time, Shannen was still sleeping. The lady used a electric shaver to shave Shannen botak.

When the shaver touched her head, she was right awake. Struggling and screaming in the saloon. Good thing was it's an early morning, there wasn't many customer. If not wrong, only 1 aunty perming her hair. All the stylists was laughing when she see her screamed. After a good 20mins cut, she is finally declare as a clean Botak. Really looks like boy this time. Lolz...

Shannen is finally 1 month old

We ordered the cake from Choz. It looks yummy. Mummy & daddy sent them to all the relatives on Sunday (one day before the actual date). We did not throw any party just disturb some cakes for relatives and my colleagues.

I woke up early to give Shannen a hair cut, nail cut (though I did it before she was 1 month old). Put them in an "Angbao". Elson drove me to office. I asked Pauline to come down and help me with Shannen while I carry the cakes. Elson did not join us as he went off to pick up some documents from his customers. Better still, as least I have sometime with my colleagues.

Everyone is so excited upon my arrival, though I knew that some were not. So what. I carried on and carried Shannen to show Mr Ong. He was very very happy and carried Shannen in his arm. Shannen was smiling at him then. While I was busying distributing the cakes, Shannen had been passing around from one aunty to another. Lolz...... We stayed there for a while and went off at 12.20pm

Shannen down with Jaundice

No matter how hard we try to sunbath her, the Jaundice level just won't go down. We brought her back to SBCC @ TMC for her check-up, Dr. Ong told us Shannen need another blood test. We waited for the result at the clinic while some aunties look @ Shannen and told us she looks yellow indeed. I was feeling so sad....

Result came and I was informed that her Jaundice level was at 14.8. If reaches 20, Shannen will need a change of blood in her little body. I called up Elson, and he told me to check-in with Shannen without any hesitation. I told mummy to help me get some clothes and stuffs for both me and Shannen while I stay on to get prepared with the nurses. My heart sank, but I still have to do it. They cover Shannen's eyes with a mask and undress her. Mummy was still with me at that time. We both cried as Shannen struggled and dun wanna sleep in the cold plastic container. I know she wanted to be with me right now. So sad.....

On the 1st night, I struggled through it myself, all alone. Though mummy wanna company me, I chased her back home. I know with her presence, we will be both crying and that defeat the purpose of getting Shannen to recover soon. It was tough. I had to breast feed Shannen, change her diaper, and after which, force to put on the mask and put her in the plastic container to let her sleep. As she was sleeping in the lying down position most of the times, I have to make sure that she can breath and not hurting her kneecaps. This tortured me till the next day morning. I was really hoping that she will recover soon and go back home with me. I really need some sleep.....

The nurse came in and did another blood test on Shannen. Waiting for Dr. Ong to give me the go ahead green light to bring Shannen home. Dr. Ong came, and he said not yet. Unless her Jaundice level had gone down to 11, otherwise, going to stay back for another night. I waited for the call from the clinic till late morning and was told the Jaundice level did drop, but not to the expected level. It was 12 only. Gonna stay back for another night. I called mummy and give her the bad news....

Elson came over on the 2nd day with mother in-law to visit Shannen. She carried Shannen and Elson was smiling and looking at her. The nurse came in and told us that we can switched off the bottom lights while Shannen can lay on the blanket instead of the hard container. Elson sent mother in-law home and came back with Satay and mee pok dry. I shared the satay with him and we had some good chat. We took turn to naps in between, but I was awake most of the time cos' scare Shannen might be hungry, thirsty, too cold, etc... Just couldn't go back to sleep.

It was the next day morning, and the nurse came in another round to do another blood test. This time, she got to meet Elson. She told me that Shannen and Elson looks so much alike. Especially the dimples. Lolz...... Another good news was, according to the nurse, Shannen looks much better and should be able to go home(base on her experience). I didn't op for any high hopes like the day before. Just praying hard in my heart. Dr. Ong came and result show some drop reading at 11. Shannen can go home!!!!! I called mummy immediately. It was a marathon for me that I didn't sleep for more than 50 hours(not forgetting that I was still doing my confinement). Never forget this moment I spent with Shannen.

It's was a Saturday morning. We reached TMC @ 5.30am. Elson was at the reception getting my registration done. While the nurse showed me the way to change my clothes and get ready for the rest of the thing. Gynae came at 8.00am, asking whether do I want the epidural taken. Without giving me a second to think about it, Elson said "Yes". I had my Epidural taken @ 8.30am. After which they just asked me to lie down and wait for contractions. Not much feeling. Can only look @ the monitor.

Waiting and waiting......

It was at about 1.00pm after Elson grab a tuna sandwich from Delifrance. All these while, he was telling me that he won't be staying by my side till Shannen is out as this is scare the hell out of him and he would be turn off next time. Hahahaha..... He was surprised by the midwife who pushed in the equipments while he got stuck at the corner with his tuna sandwich. The midwife asked him to push and support my back while I get ready to give some big pushes. I didn't know how to do it cos' the Epidural was way too good to numb all the pains which I supposed to have. I only know how to push on my face. Then Elson followed what the midwife said "push at the bottom not on your face" I gave him the killer look this time and told him "I dun wanna give birth liao, stop everything immediately" LMAO......

There's nothing much we could do but trying and kept trying until 2.10pm when my gynae came to the rescue. This time, Elson sneaked his way out. Without asking whether I wanna try pushing for more, she straight away gave me a vacuum to get Shannen out. She gave me a longer cut and got ready for everything, and Shannen arrived at 2.35pm. Lying on my tummy, looking small with her big eyes opened and smiled. After they cleaned her, she was screaming loudly. Gynae was telling Shannen, "you only came out for a few minutes and wanted to compete with me who has been in this line for over 30 years?" After which Shannen stopped her scream. While getting my stitches done, I was looking at her. So sweet, she smiled with her dimples and looks like Elson. So much alike...... I was tearing...
