Mummy With her New Hairstyle

Eczema

It's the 1st time that Shannen was diagnose to have Eczema. The rashes have been with her for about 1 month only until today I decided to bring her to the PD for a check. It's all because the rash has spread out to a bigger area on her body. When I heard the PD told me that she had Eczema, I was so so sad. PD also told me that Shannen has very sensitive skin. She also suspected that it must be the renovation which is going on at the next door neighbour house. The dust must have caused it.

I was told to keep Shannen as clean as possible. This apply same to our house too. No diaper cream, YuYee oil & J&J baby powder for her until she recover. Shannen will also have to take Zytec for the next 5 days and I have to apply the lotion for her twice a day on the affected area. This will help to ease the itch. Gonna pray hard for her to recover soon.

16th Months Milestones

Finally Shannen is now 16 months old. I had also spent 5months with her 24/7 since I stopped working. Take a look at what Princess Shannen can do now.

1) Calling me mummy instead of mama and calling hubby daddy instead of papa now

2) Can recognise things that belongs to whoever. When asked her she will tell you

3) Can walk steadily liao

4) No longer crawling up the stairs. Is holding onto the railing and walking up the stairs now

5) When dun want something, she will say "bu yao" (dun want) and when she wants something from you, still will quickly say "xiexie" (thank you)

6) Know lots of words like bubble, apple, nainai, meimei, jiejie, gong gong, gugu, yi...., fish, bear, cat,woofwoof(for dogs), moo(for cow), etc

7) When ask her to do things, she will. For example, once I asked her to pass me her daddy's pant which was on the bed, cos I need to iron it, she really did so.

8) Will keep her toys after playing when ask to

9) Been drinking her milk from cup & straw now

10) Knows all her bodyparts. Will point at them when ask to

11) When watching her fav. movie - 881 and will dance at different patterns for different songs. Slow songs - rotate her head, fast songs - move her whole body

12) Love to say "No more" when her Barney show ended

After staying at home with her for such a long time, I realise that it's really something worth it to give up my job for 10 years. $$ cannot buy the times which I had spent with her. She is closer to me now. I will also be able to teach her and guide her the way I want for her. At least when she wake up 1st thing in the morning, she will take out her pacifer and call me loudly, Mummy!

Cod Liver Oil

It took Princess Shannen 21days to finish the big bottle(400ml) of Cod Liver Oil(original flavour) since she start drinking it on 26.12.2007. I use the method by pouring the COL into a small drinking cup, and use her porridge spoon to feed her. If she refuse(sometimes), I will try to divert her attention by giving her some toys. I think the COL does help to let Shannen gain some weight. Look...

I Had A Bad Fall

It's was a lousy evening. I had a fall, not Shannen, but me - the mummy.

We were playing on the bed with her new X'mas present from her aunt. Then Shannen accidentally threw the ball on the floor. I went down to pick it up for her. While walking back to the bed, I stepped on the toy's cover, slipped and fell. My left leg went right under the bed. The upper part of my leg brushed through the bed frame and a thin layer of my skin came off. I was so bloody painful. 1st thing that came to my mind was to be clam so that Shannen won't be frighten by what happened.

I threw the ball back to her and told her "mummy is alright, only fell down, give me a while and I will come and play with you". Guess what. Shannen bust out in tears. She was crying loudly and quickly crawl to the edge of the bed and asked me to carry her. As soon as I carried her to me, she hold me tightly and cried even loudly. Then she bend over to my leg and kissed on it. So sweet......

Told my mom and mother-in-law about what happened, they both said that Shannen does understand what actually happened. I felt so touched. Thought my leg is still painful, but I think it's worth it.
