9th Gynae Checkup

Dr. Adrian has once confirmed that Sarah is healthy and active. Her head is already getting ready and has turned in a downwards position. Still schedule for her to come out on 16th of September. Hopefully nothing goes wrong.

Sarah is weighing @ 1.659kg now.

Huiting's Birthday

Every year around this time, I will be very angry and frustrated. I wonder how can any parent just forget about their own flesh blood when he or she is still alive. Huiting is a living example. Her parents had divorced and both of them already had their own family with kids. Which means, they had forgotten about this poor girl who is staying with my parents for years. Worse, my aunt (Huitin's mother) still have to cheek to tell my parents that it's Huiting's birthday tomorrow and she didn't even give her a call to wish her own daughter. Last year was worse. We were at the airport (with Huiting of course), preparing to leave for our Penang trip, she (my aunt) called and told my dad to make "mee sua" for Huiting for her birthday. My dad told her we were at the airport, bringing Huiting for a Penang trip and put down the phone. Can't believe that she treat my parents like her maid!

The last we saw her (my aunt) was sometime in April when we needed her to renew Huiting's Singtel contract. Well, I gave her an abalone porridge treat in return. When mentioned that Huiting is going to study a nursing course, not only she didn't give her any encouragement, but she end up saying things like Huiting won't be able to go far from that course. C'mon, am not asking you to pay a single cent for her school fee and for all these years, you didn't even fulfill your duty as a mother, ok! After hearing those words from her, my mom told her that Elson will be paying for her school fee until she finish the course and if she can advance to Polytechnic, we will support her too. We are also giving her a monthly allowance so that she don't have to work as a part-time to earning some pocket money for herself.

Really felt so ashamed for having such aunt! On the other hand, I have to thank her(my aunt) for throwing Huiting out in the middle of the night and leave her with no choice but to end up calling us for help. Can you imagine that a poor girl at the age of 14 or 15, being thrown out by her own mother??? Worse still, she made a police report later, saying that Huiting had gone missing. She knew that Huiting was at our place all the while and she was just trying to make things difficult. Huiting had to go back with her again and also to the police station to cancel the missing report. My dad also have to talk to her nicely, asking her to let Huiting stay at my parents' place since she had no time for her.

Anyway, it's Huiting's birthday tomorrow and since she will be on duty(in SGH) and my parents will be away for Hatyai too, we had decided to celebrate her birthday in advance. I told myself, be it rain or shine I need to get her a birthday cake as a surprised. Fetched Shannen from school earlier (it was pouring heavily) and picked mummy up from her place and we headed off to Compass Point for lunch 1st. We bought a small cake from Bread Talk which was chosen by Shannen ( at 1st she wanted a cheesecake, then told her cannot, then she wanted a Tiramisu, told her cannot also, then downsize her choice to either the "White" Strawberry, which is Chantilly or "Black" Strawberry which is Black Forest). She end up choosing the Chantilly for Huiting.

When Huiting got home, we just pretend nothing happen. When she saw the cake in the fridge, I lie to her that's something my MIL wanted me to get for her. Soon after we finished dinner, we took out the cake, gave her the "hongbaos" and she was happily laughing away. The pictures showed.....

Complaint Queen VS Sweetheart

Lately, I've found out that Shannen likes to complaint to me on almost everything. On the other hand, she has also been a very sweet girl that makes me wanna be with her for long....

Complaint Case 1

Teacher Sarie told me that Shannen was very grumpy in school today. Here's their conversation

Teacher Sarie : What happen, Shannen?
Shannen : Anne Marie don't want to share the toys with her (with a very sad frown face)

Complaint Case 2

Soon as I step out from the bathroom, Shannen told me

Shannen : Mummy, daddy don't want to go and bath
Daddy : I want to sleep.
Shannen : You go and sleep on the floor. Don't dirty the bed. I want to sleep here!

Complaint Case 3

While I was bathing Shannen, she told me this

Shannen : Just now Peixuan jie jie(Shannen's cousin) use my bath tub.
Me : It's ok. You have to share
Shannen : Later crack how?
Me : Ok, next time you see her in the bath tub, just tell her nicely to get up, ok
Shannen : I will tell her to get up next time (she nodded)

Being Sweet Case 1

We were watching the show on tv and saw the SK II advertisement.

Shannen : Later, I buy for you, ok?
Me : For what?
Shannen : Later you put on your face and you look pretty
Me : Do you have the money
Shannen : I take Daddy's money and buy for you.

Beforehand we did talk about the advertisement and I told her after applying the SK II, mummy will look prettier. I was laughing away by her words. Lolz...

Being Sweet Case 2

Whenever I company Shannen for her nap or night sleeping, this will happen

Me : Can you please close your eyes and sleep?
Shannen : (she will hold both my cheeks with her small little hands, look into my eyes so gently and say), Mummy, 你不要 angry.

Puzzles

After playing with the puzzles for a few round, Shannen is able remember where the pieces are supposed to be. For the ABC Lilo & Stitch puzzles, she can finish them within 2 minutes. As for the food puzzles, she spend about a minutes to complete them.

The Buffet Club - Amara Hotel, Element

We received the membership from The Buffet Club on Tuesday and made an appointment with Amara Hotel to dine-in @ Element for their international buffet this evening. The variety of the foods wasn't a lot but I would give a 9/10 for the taste of the foods. Can see that Shannen did enjoy her dinner.

34 Months Milestones

Yes.... Yes.. Another 2 more months Shannen will be turning 3. Don't think I will be celebrating her birthday on her actual day as I had arranged an appointment with Dr. Adrian for Sarah to come out on that day.

As Shannen is growing up each day, we can see lots of good and bad things happened. She no longer talks like a baby. She will shoot questions at us and repeat after us. She will also remember what we told her before and answered us back when we asked her things. She is also able to unbutton her clothes by herself, go to the toilet by herself (in school). Well, she has been diapless for more than a month and I only put her on diaper during her nap time and sleeping hours. When she wanna go to the toilet(at home), she is able to tell me whether she wanna pee or do her big business. I will agree that the credit goes to the school she is attending now. Teachers there has been very patience with Shannen.

Of course there are also a few more bad things Shannen had picked up throughout her growing up. She is more impatience than before. She wants things her way. She also knows how to bully the younger kids in school. Hopefully when Sarah comes out, Shannen will change to be a better sister.

Terrible Heat Monster

Shannen was having a mild flu and cough on 9th of July. After the scary Bronchitis incident(2 months back), I told myself not to allow such thing to happen again. So, I gave Shannen the flu & cough & airway medicine on the very day. Ensuring that she will at least not get worse for the minor flu and cough virus.

When Elson came back on 10th of July, he told me he wasn't feeling well. After feeling his forehead, I didn't find anything abnormal. It was about 7pm when he told me he was feeling body aching. At the same time Shannen was having fever at 38.7 degree. I took Elson's temperature and was surprised that he was having a fever @ 38.5 degree. The stubborn fellow only went to see a doctor when his fever reached 39.2 degree. Doctor (GP) had confirmed that Shannen's lungs were cleared (means no Bronchitis), her ears were alright too, only her throat is badly infected. Her fever was the same temperature(38.7 degree) when the doctor tested her. He gave Shannen a fever bullet then. Fever doesn't go away and I had to give Shannen the higher fever medicine to make the fever goes off.

When it's Elson's turn, we were all so scared that he might be having the H1N1 virus. Doctor asked him a few questions and had assumed that he might be having Dengue instead of the flu virus. If his fever is still that same on Monday, a blood test will be needed then. Elson asked for a fever jab and his fever had gone within an hour.

On 11th July

Shannen's fever came back again at 1am & 7am, both measuring at 38.6 degree. Asked Mummy to help me make an appointment with Dr. Lilian. We were able to see her around 10.30am and she had confirmed once again that Shannen was not having Bronchitis. Except this time, the fever is really very stubborn (based on my record). She also told us not to gave Shannen any antibiotics which was prescribed by the GP the previous day. Shannen has to continue with her flu & cough, airway, fever and higher fever medicine. On top of that, she will also have to continue a 10 days of Singular powder(to help make her lungs stronger). Upon reaching home, after lunch, Shannen's fever shot up to 39.9 degree. No wonder she was feeling so weak. Gave her the higher fever medicine + fever patch. Fever went down to 37.6 degree around 4pm and I don't dare to let her out from the room ( keep her in aircon room with fan for the whole day). Around 9pm, her fever was back to 39.9 degree. This time, we took her for a "slightly cold bath) Was playing with her in the water for 30mins and the fever was subsided to 37.8 degree around 11pm.

Elson was having his fever back again around 9pm @ 38 degree. He was feeling cold while his forehead was burning. He took the medicine, went for a bath and hide inside the blanket after helping me with Shannen's bath. Both of them zzzzz at 12am. I am feeling so tired!

On 12th of July

Shannen's fever was at 38.5 degree in the morning. I quickly gave her the higher fever medicine. The rest of the day, she was okay until it was around 9pm when fever came back @ 39 degree. Repeated the same steps, gave her the higher fever medicine + fever patch. I was so and thought that she could go to school the next day, but fever came back in the night. Gonna keep her at home then. Elson is ok. No more fever(touch wood). At least a lesser person to take care now. I didn't sleep for 3 days liao.........

On 13th of July.

Until this after, Shannen is getting better. Her temperature was at 37.3 degree in the morning. Hopefully the fever won't come back ever again!!!!!! My wish didn't come true. Fever strike right after the last milk feed. It was at 38 degree. I gave Shannen the normal fever without any fever patch. Just gonna pray hard that her fever will be gone totally by tomorrow.

8th Gynae Checkup

It was a very good news after we did the scan. Dr. Adrian had confirmed that my placenta had moved upwards. Which means, I can give birth to Sarah naturally. Not only that, Dr. Adrian was able to let me give birth to Sarah on 16th of September naturally if Sarah doesn't come out any earlier. This means 16th of September will be a very significant date for the Poh cos it's the birthday for both Shannen & Sarah, it's also our wedding anniversary (though we don't have any banquet, only ROM).

Right now, I will have to sit back, relax and keep reminding Sarah not to come out any earlier.

Sarah is weighing 1.208kg now.

My 1st Order From Ralph Lauren

Since my 1st pregnancy, I already told myself that I need to prepare a set of nice clothing for my baby upon her(Shannen) discharge from hospital. I believe that if I buy her something expensive, she will be able to live in luxury throughout the rest of her life. I will also keep that set of clothing for her until they have their own children and pass on to them. See lah... Elson told me, woman always have all sort of excuses for themselves when they wanna buy something. Lolz..

So I bought a romper and a blouse with a matching pantie from Ralph Lauren boutique @ Forum Shopping Mall 2 months before Shannen was born. Also purchased a long-sleeves top together with a jeans from Burberry. Altogether, it cost me $300 at that time. Wow......

This time round, I don't have that much freedom compared with my last pregnancy. Shannen was too sticky to me and I can't bring her to Orchard Road for shopping with Sarah inside me. So I decided to purchase something nice online instead. This is my 1st order from Ralph Lauren online. Was very happy that I managed to get something for both Shannen & Sarah.
